Evonne: Hi listeners! Welcome to Million Ways to Shine Podcast, previously known as Lost & Refound.
So first things first, why the change? Well, it felt like the right time to make a transition. When Yan and I first started the podcast. It was to uplift journeys and stories from our community. It felt like all other podcasts were about people who had it together and accomplish all their goals smoothly and “made it”.
But we wanted to hear from people going through the same struggles and questions we were going through. The good, the not so good - the realistic. Our first year was full of energy. We were excited to connect and reach out to other people like us. And the reception was amazing. Honestly, we were surprised by how many of you came along to join us! When I looked at our podcast metrics, I thought, okay, I definitely don't have this many friends or family members. These are definitely people who clicked on our episode links and want to be here.
I remember telling Yan. Wow. It feels like we're making a difference. So when our second year came along, Balancing the podcast with work priorities and adjusting to the pandemic became increasingly difficult. Yan decided to take a step back from the podcast. And I decided to take a break to figure out what I wanted the space to be.
Yan and I are still friends. We still talk and eat delicious food together when we can. You can still find her on Instagram @fabmomlife - living her dream, rural life. She has amazing content on her DIY home projects, gardening, easy recipes and being a working mom. Please follow her and give her some love.
As for me, I wanted to nurture a space to help people who are feeling lost between passion projects and their nine to five, but maybe don't know why. Or maybe you do know why, but you need support and guidance from someone who has been there. And understands where you want to go. This is the space where you can learn how to balance your goals, time and resources. And hear from others who are just like you and can share advice on how to take steps towards your life goals.
This is a space where I hope you can find peace and courage. Especially when life is unexpected. No matter where you want to go, who you want to be or what you want to do. I believe there is space for everyone. We're all looking for our own ways to stand out and make an impact. There are a million ways to shine.
And we are here to discover how we can share our light in our best way. So you'll be seeing a new podcast cover. And updated website and new social content for me. I started using descript to edit my podcast and make transcripts. So I plan to go back to past episodes to create transcripts for wider accessibility.
And remaster the audio quality where I can. If there's an episode, you really want to see transcribed first. DM me on Instagram @millionwaystoshine or send me an email. Also, let me know what content you love and what information you want to learn more about. So I can help you on your journey.
In my personal journey, I take a lot of business and self-help courses, and read a lot of self-help books. So I'll probably start there and provide reviews for you and share what has really moved the needle for me in my own productivity.
If you love this episode, let us know what you think by leaving a review on apple podcasts, or you can reach us on our Instagram page. A big thank you to everyone who has given us a review and a shout-out. Your support means so much to me. Keep an eye out for new content and see you next time.
